Electrical Resistance Alloys

These alloys are especially characterised by high resistivity and high resistance to oxidation and chemical corrosion. Electrical resistance alloys are mostly found in the electrical and electronics industry. They are widely used whenever electrical energy is converted into heat, as in ceramic cook tops, electrical heaters, toasters or coffee machines. There are two main types of alloys in this category, Nickel-Chromium alloys and Iron-Chromium-Aluminum alloys. Nickel-Chromium alloys are commonly used in production of resistance wire because of their high resistivity and stable oxidation resistance properties at temperatures up to 1250°C. These alloys are well-suited for extreme environments. Iron-Chrome-Aluminum alloys are ferritic alloys whose electrical resistance properties are similar to those of the Nickel-Chromium alloys, making them suitable for electrical heating applications, but absence of Nickel makes them cheaper than Nickel-Chromium alloys, it also makes them more prone to corrosion. Nickel Products

Commercially pure Nickel alloys find their main applications in chemical processing, automotive, electronics, and electrical sectors. These alloys offer good thermal conductivity, mechanical properties, resistance against many corrosive environments, in particular against caustic alkalis, low electrical resistivity, and good magnetostrictive properties. For instance these alloys can be used for heat exchangers in corrosive environments. In case mechanical parts require excellent corrosion and strong magnetic properties, pure wrought nickel is the best option among materials with high ductile properties at wide range of temperatures. Welding Consumables

ULTIMetals provides welding wire and rods in high performance stainless steels and nickel alloys, designed to increase productivity and lower production cost. Suitable for hydroturbine components and surfacing of continuous caster rolls. Particularly welding consumables are suitable for use in the nuclear industry owing to the low cobalt and impurity levels. Also it is used for overlay welding of pressure vessels for the petrochemical industry. Our welding consumables are widely applied for welding of vital parts in Machinery, Metallurgy, Aerospace, Military, Medicine, Maintenance and Service. Read more…

Heat & Corrosion Resistance Alloys

Nowadays more electronic components, more facilities, equipment and parts are being used in high temperatures. As a result high temperature alloys provide strength, environmental resistance and stability within the 260°C to 1205°C temperature range. They have been used generally in the presence of combustion from heat sources such as turbine engines, reciprocating engines, power plants, furnaces and pollution control equipment. These alloys are widely used in chemical processing industries, offering high resistance to uniform attack, exceptional localized corrosion and stress corrosion cracking resistance, and ease of welding and fabrication. By eliminating the need for costly workovers, high temperature and corrosion resistant alloys offer valuable life cycle cost advantages. Read more…
