NiCr 30 20

Common trade names: NiCr 30 20, Ni30Cr20, Nichrome 30/20, Resistohm 30.

NiCr 30 20 (Werkstoff Nr 1.4860) can be used at operating temperature up to 1080°C. Nickel-Chromium alloy 30/20 is especially characterized by high resistivity and relatively low prices when compared with other Nickel-Chromium alloys. In spite of its relatively high iron content, NiCr 30 20 is resistant to oxidation and chemical corrosion. It is a non-magnetic alloy.

Application

NiCr 30 20 is suitable for a large variety of domestic heating applications, and particularly when usage temperature is not too high and that cost is a vital factor. It has good ductility after long time usage, good mechanical property at high temperature and good weldability. Its high temperature coefficient allows it a quicker rise in temperature than the other NiCr Alloys. This alloy is very similar to NiCr 40 20 but with a little lower resistivity which imposes a maximum operating temperature of 1080o C and a higher ventilation as for NiCr 40 20.

  • Heating accumulators.
  • Electric heating elements (Electric blankets and pads, car seats, baseboard heaters, floor heaters, resistors).
  • Industrial furnaces up to 1080°.
  • Heating cables, rope heaters in defrosting and de-icing elements.
